Here during the period of 1899 – 1914, more than 800 buildings were built with unusual shapes, luxurious facades, which incorporated mythical characters and Latvian natural and ethnographic elements. Art Nouveau as an art direction began in the end of the 19th century and quickly spread throughout Europe. This art genre was found not only in architecture, but also in interior design, paintings and sculptures.
The tour will end in the stunning Kronvalda park, just a 5-minute walk from the Freedom Monument and Riga Old Town, and an even shorter walking distance away from Art Nouveau cafés and museums.
